Crash hurts El Toro flier

Parker Arizona AP reports a Marine Corps Phantom jet crashed near Parker during a routine photo training mission. The pilot Robert Bach 38 Sumner Washington was killed. In Monasterevin Ireland a three person group led by 28 year old Gallagher and including Marian Coyle hold Dutch industrialist Tiede Herrema on the second floor of a besieged row house. Coyle refuses to surrender despite police offers and a third day of siege with armed soldiers below. The girl’s identity is confirmed as Marian Coyle, sister to Marlene Coyle wanted for bombings in Britain. Gallagher has spurned overtures from police and withheld surrender, with basic sustenance limited to bread and milk and water from a bathroom tap.
