Spaceport Plan Told by McDonnell Douglas Engineer
Fritz Runge, manager of McDonnell Douglas Astronautics, outlined an expandable space station concept starting with a 12 man base in orbit by a Saturn type booster in 1975. Free flying modules and a central base would enable diverse experiments including rapid vaccine production, with artificial gravity via rotating sections to aid visiting scientists.
