Ex education chief Allen among 10 dead in Grand Canyon crash
Nine passengers died when a Scenic Airways Cessna 402 crashed near Pine Mountain about 40 miles north of the community. Pilot Wayne Leeth, 47, of Las Vegas, and ex education commissioner James Allen, 60, were aboard along with his wife Florence. two Americans and five foreigners were also among the deceased. The crash halted sky tours as snow and winter weather impeded recovery efforts.

C5s Return to Service After Grounding
The first of 47 grounded C5 jumbo cargo planes returned to air today as inspections continue. The Altus AFB engine mount failure prompted the grounding, with the first return scheduled for Charleston AFB to pick up cargo. Ten more low hour planes and six test aircraft are expected back soon. A replacement pylon costs 110000 dollars.
