U S Sets Teacher Hearing After Firearms Cache Seizure
Westminister High School teacher George L. Hudson faces a preliminary hearing on a federal firearms act violation set for November 13 before U S Commissioner Arthur Bradley in Santa Ana. Hudson, residing at 1341 Glenneyre Street Laguna Beach, was arrested after agents seized about 30 firearms from two Laguna Beach houses. The cache included 30 and 50 caliber machine guns and sub machine guns. Agents from the Internal Revenue Service enforcement division said the seizure followed investigations into firearms sales and that the weapons were bought from various legitimate sources, stored non functional, then completed with missing parts. Hudson, free on $2,500 bail, declined comment.

Cost of New Supervisors Computed
The piece notes annual costs for new supervisors around $65 000 and details added expenses like Ernest Debs mailing 6000 newsletters monthly. Officials warn additional supervisors would create more top‑level staff, longer decision times, more arguments, and tangibles such as greater project load and higher costs.
