Rockefeller kin found dead in New York estate home
William Avery Rockefeller, 77, a second cousin of Gov. Nelson Rockefeller, was found dead in a ground floor bathroom at his Santa Clara, New York estate. Police say he apparently shot himself with a 2 gauge shotgun. a weapon was found beside the body after a caretaker discovered the open gun cabinet.

British diplomat freed by kidnappers in Guadalajara
A British consul Dr Anthony Vanean Williams was released by five kidnappers after four days in Guadalajara. He arrived home unharmed but tired, wearing a soiled shirt and with a rope belt. A separate case involved five men abducting an industrialist. Williams said he did not see that person. The 23 September Communist League demanded ransom for two other captives, including a 64 year old cook. The government refused to release prisoners but agreed to safe conduct to a country of the kidnappers’ choice. Williams’ wife suffered a heart attack and was hospitalized. Five men seized Williams from his home last Wednesday. Two trains collided near Naples. initial reports say 90 people were injured.
