Rafferty Urges California Demonstration and Laboratory Schools
State Board of Education backed proposals from Max Rafferty to create demonstration and laboratory schools across California. Plans call for one north and one south model, developed with a citizens committee, aiming to test new methods of school organization, instruction, and improvements to learning environments. Dr Laurel Glass noted the changes as essential, citing issues like class size teacher aides bilingual education and programs for gifted students.
