Federal official warns doctor fees may curb visits
Washington reports that if doctors' fees keep rising Americans may skip visits. Undersecretary Wilbur Cohen cites 7.8 percent fee rise in 1966 and 8.9 percent in August 1967 as signs of higher costs. AMA president Milford Rouse notes hospital payrolls drive costs and urges government and labor to share responsibility.
