Ruling Reverses Plan For Delegates At 1972 Convention
A U S Appeals Court reversed a lower court ruling that the Democratic parties delegate apportionment formula for the 1972 national convention is discriminatory and unconstitutional. The three judge panel upheld the formula allocating 3016 convention votes by 46 percent weighted on three presidential election averages and 54 percent on three times each state’s electoral college strength.
