Airliner collision leaves one dead and 27 safe
An Eastern Air Lines jet from Jacksonville to Miami landed safely in Orlando after a small single engine plane struck it, killing the pilot Seymour Ayres. The airliner’s crew reported control was maintained and most passengers remained uninjured. The crash occurred near Mrs. T. J. Shea’s home as Ayres’ plane burned in a nearby field.

Two Men Die In Separate Long Beach Area Crashes
Two men died in separate late Friday and early today traffic crashes in the metropolitan Long Beach area. Joe Paul Ow din, 38, of Gardena, died after a car collision at Walnut Avenue and Bixby Road. Tony Don McClish, 20, of Long Beach, died from injuries after colliding with a car driven by Betty Jean Cloud at the same intersection. McClish was Long Beach’s 32nd traffic fatality of 1960. Oudin was dead on arrival at Harbor General Hospital.

29 Seized in Orange Dope Raid
SANTA ANA The largest narcotics round up in the history of Orange County occurred early this morning as 29 people were arrested as sellers and addicts. Officers from 11 agencies conducted the coordinated raid across Anaheim Santa Ana Orange Stanton and El Modena after six months of undercover work begun by Santa Ana narcotics officers with state narcotics agents the county sheriff and district attorney investigators. The operation began at 2 am and by 4 am all defendants were in custody at the Orange County Jail. Two indicted suspects fled the scene. Those taken into custody include 15 from Santa Ana 4 from Orange 4 from Anaheim 1 from Stanton 1 from El Modeno and 1 from Paramount. Continuous undercover buys accompanied the arrests including a kilo of marijuana and an ounce of heroin.

Crew Finds Tot Missing Overnight
A two year old boy missing overnight in bush cover near his Germantown home was found alive by an army helicopter crew from Milwaukee. Peter Martin was returned to his home in good health after long exposure in the coldest weather of the season. He is the son of Mr and Mrs Carlton Martin. He was spotted about three blocks from his home after authorities said he had wandered extensively. He disappeared Friday afternoon.
