18-20 Vote Wouldn’t Alter California Election Outcomes
California Polls from 1970 show 18-20 year olds view themselves as more liberal and less conservative than current voters. If allowed to vote then, they would likely align with Democrats more often, but would not drastically shift outcomes for governor, U S senator, attorney general, or state school superintendent. About 1 million in this group exist, yet only half are potential voters, and turnout would mirror older voters.
