Long Beach Teacher Dies in Home-Built Gyroplane Crash
Marshall R. Claus, 34, a Long Beach Marshall Junior High School teacher, was killed when the gyroplane he built crashed at Miragé Dry Lake near Adelanto. Authorities say the rotor failed at about 75 feet, the craft dove, bounced, and Claus, still strapped in, suffered fatal head and chest injuries despite being taken to George Air Force Base Hospital.

A former Long Beach man, Ine Bradley, 25, now of all Oaks, was arrested in Los Angeles County on four counts of violating the Federal Weapons Act. Police and federal agents said 21 guns were seized and had been stolen from a discount store in Orange Dale, California, last Thursday. Bradley was arrested in the Holiday Inn parking lot after meeting undercover investigators.
