California taxes diverge as personal receipts rise
Californians pay more personal income tax this year while corporate taxes fall. Through the first four months of 1975 76 personal tax revenues rose 2 percent to 790 million, and bank and corporate taxes dropped 21 percent to 255.6 million amid a sluggish economy and refunds on 1974 estimates. Economists expect personal tax gains to outpace corporate recovery as wages rise and profits rebound slowly.
