Bank robbery attempt in Toronto ends with fugitive flight
Two men in Halloween masks entered a Toronto Dominion Bank branch. One drew a revolver and blocked doors while the other, attempting a counter vault, crashed to the floor. The accomplice fled. the employee restrained the attacker as a shot rang out. Edward Kotaposki, 33, of Montreal, was later charged with attempted robbery.

Death penalty urged for Washington drifter in spree killings
A seven woman five man jury recommended the death penalty Thursday for Thomas Braun 20 in a August 1967 crime spree that killed Timothy Luce 17 in Ukiah paralyzed his girlfriend Susan Bartolomei and implicated Leonard Maine 20 sentenced for second degree murder.
