Navy Relief and Chinese Navy Visit Highlight Long Beach Notes
The Long Beach area reports a luncheon hosted by Mrs. William T. Nelson for Navy Relief and Assistance League members and guests at Allen Center, followed by a tour of Navy Relief activities on Terminal Island. In a separate event, USS Whitemarsh will be transferred and hosted by Chinese officials headlined by Ambassador Dr Yeh, with a luncheon and shipboard buffet for dignitaries. Multiple social gatherings at NAS Los Alamitos and surrounding clubs are noted, including officer wives’ activities, arrivals, and upcoming weddings.
