Marysville authorities report two 13 year old girls Valerie Lane and Doris Derryberry were found shot to death southeast of town near a Bear River diversion dam. They had been missing about 20 hours and were identified by Sheriff Gary Miller. No motive or suspects named. Autopsies pending in Sacramento County.

Skylab the orbital workshop launched May 14 will be visible over Southern California this week. It will be seen at 5 41 p m over Los Angeles moving northwest to east at a maximum elevation of 24 degrees. In San Diego it will be visible at 5 32 p m moving north to east at 22 degrees. Wednesday offers the best sighting with the craft nearly overhead at 6 39 p m in Los Angeles and 6 40 p m in San Diego. It shines as bright as Venus and travels about five miles per second.
