Results show American diet linked to heart attacks
A controlled study presented at the 44th annual American Heart Association session in Anaheim reports that rhesus monkeys fed a typical American diet show double blood cholesterol and greater arterial fatty deposits compared with a prudent diet. The prudent diet, lower in fats and cholesterol and with fewer calories, may reduce heart disease risk as per University of Chicago researchers led by Dr. Robert W. Wissler.
