Galveston Texas reports that a large lunar meteorite impact on the moon’s far side produced seismic data suggesting a molten core. Apollo project seismologist Dr Gary Latham says findings are preliminary but indicate a possible liquid moon interior. Further confirmation is awaited within a month.
A furnace in the fur nace room at Torrington airport sparked a fire overnight. Officials said storage near the furnace caught fire, causing about 500 dollars in damage. The blaze reportedly set off a hot water heater valve, spraying water that quenched the fire.
Scientist Latham notes small moonquakes originate around 600 miles deep, possibly marking the edge of mobile material. He argues that above this, the moon is rigid and estimates a potential molten core could be about 300 miles thick.
