Court Sentences Revenge Slayers
Two young Wilmington men were sentenced by Superior Court Judge Max Z Wisot for the May murder of Harbor City teen Epifino Pimental and Alon Gonzales. Pimental faces 5 years to life after pleading guilty to second degree murder. Gonzales receives six months to ten years for manslaughter. Pimental's brother Robert, 18, also pled guilty to manslaughter and was referred to the California Youth Authority.

Long Beach Unified School District will offer two state funded programs for slow learners in English and mathematics starting January 30, 1967. Ray mond Jefferson Ross Jr. of Norwalk who was killed by a sniper near Quang Ngai on a mission with Company D First Marine Battalion will be said at 8 p.m. Wednesday at St. Paul of the Cross Church La Mirada. Requiem High Mass will be sung at 9 a.m. Thursday. Burial is in Queen of Heaven Cemetery La Puente. The 21-year-old Marine, who arrived in Viet Nam in late September, was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ross of 12005 Volunteer Ave.
