Three Birchers Blasted for Public Meeting Disruption
Torrance judge sentenced James Rea Cadie and Jacob Sacks, Birch Society leaders, after guilty pleas for disturbing the peace at an all white Torrance housing tract hearing. Each received 225 dollars fines, suspended 10 day jail terms, and two years probation. Prosecutor Catterlin, the meeting chair, noted the event as a rare criminal charge against Birch leaders. The court condemned outsiders dictating public forum limits and questioned potential future targeting of service clubs. Cadie Rea and Sacks lead Long Beach Palos Verdes and South Bay chapters respectively.

Enzyme Test Aids Early Detection Of Urinary Tract Diseases
Long Beach urologists report a spectrophotometer based LDH test that measures lactic acid dehydrogenase in urine to flag serious urinary tract diseases. In 78 percent of elevated LDH cases, serious disease or malignant bladder or ureter tumors were found. The study, led by Dr Ramkissoon at Memorial Hospital, suggests LDH rises with tissue damage and may serve as an adjunct in early detection. Findings to be reported in the Journal of Urology.
