Two men in Saskatchewan reported sighting eight young Whopping Cranes in the northeastern region near Saskatoon. The witnesses named W J Dorezowsky and Nick Paskarik noted the birds were the eighth juvenile among a group of nearly extinct cranes. An adult crane counted with 26 adults in the area, and the group reportedly flew away as approached during wintering grounds inquiry.
