Medicine Man Seeks to Withdraw Guilty Pleas
Curlis Howa Springer a ratio evangelist and health foods seller asked San Bernardino Municipal Court to set aside his earlier guilty pleas on eight counts of false and misleading advertising. His attorney said he was misadvised or misunderstood the charges, arguing the plea was based on a technical matter and updated labels. Springer added no radio station would allow him to appear if he admitted false advertising.

Doctors weigh continuing use of ineffective drugs
A VA spokesman notes Panalba and other NAS-listed drugs remain in use in agency hospitals. Dr Crow questions why any drug deemed ineffective would be stocked and says doctors must decide individually. He checked four drugs in hospital pharmacies and cannot estimate how many of 66 others are stocked or recalled.
LSD Do Not Change Chromosomes Says Researchers
Three researchers reported that LSD use does not cause significant changes in human chromosomes. The team from Johns Hopkins, Maryland Psychiatric Research Center and National Institute of Arthritis and Metabolic Diseases studied 32 psychiatric patients at Spring Grove State Hospital. They found no definite evidence of chromosomal damage, though call for further research remained.
