Beagles Shed Light on Low Level Radiation Effects
Davis researchers report 1000 barkless beagles fed strontium 90 reveal how low level radiation affects life. Findings show background radiation would need about 200000 times current levels to harm humans, bone cancer risk rises with exposure, and most strontium is excreted or blocked by placental barriers.
