Gorilla weigher at Woodland Park Zoo raises weights
A zoologist and student designed a 11 foot aluminum tube device to weigh Bobo the gorilla by placing him on a plate attached to a strain indicator. The idea came after visitors frequently asked Bobo's exact weight. In testing, a similarly tempered orangutan showed up, but the plan faced practical issues with cold metal plates and animal comfort.

Humphrey Plans to Keep Bloc of 100 Delegates
Senator Hubert Humphrey outlined a plan to retain about 100 first ballot delegates after losing the West Virginia primary to John F Kennedy. He holds Minnesota and South Dakota delegates plus DC primary gains and portions from Wisconsin and other scattered states, while avoiding any stop Kennedy strategy. He expects some rivals to back Kennedy if he secures the nomination, potentially complicating Kennedy's path to the first ballot victory.
