Graham shocked by literature available to pupils
A San Francisco subcommittee investigating Billy Graham said the evangelist was shocked by pornographic material accessible to high school students. Graham warned passage of anti obscenity legislation would be difficult as he faced scheduling conflicts before testifying before the state Assembly. He later arranged to testify after a series of speaking engagements across the state, urging a religious awakening amid debates over what constitutes obscenity.
