Soviets push ahead with new intercontinental missile silos
Washington officials say the Soviet Union rapidly advances a new strategic missile program with 60 plus silos now in use or under construction at Tyuratam and elsewhere. First test firings expected within months as analysts warn of a potential crash program while MIRV warheads are anticipated on the new missiles and old stocks may be retained for testing and possible disarmament talks.
