IUD recall affects up to two hundred thousand devices
FDA announced recall of about 200000 CUT IUDs due to potential infection risk stemming from defective seals and sterility concerns. Searle & Co. says about 150000 to 200000 may be in doctors offices or medical supply houses, with 120900 not yet moved from warehouses. Patients with CUT devices should consult doctors if problems arise.
