Newport Beach seeks court order to curb Orange County Airport jet flights
City officials ask Santa Ana Superior Court to shut down jet flights and impose a 10 p.m. curfew while requiring two extra noise monitoring stations near Pacific Coast Highway. They seek to bar terminal expansions and new airlines, and to compel pilots to follow the Newport Beach flight pattern for reduced noise. Authorities note county actions already limit jets but want a permanent court order.
