Scout Exec quotes Cubs Popularity at Scout Meet

Dr Arthur A Schuck head of the Boy Scouts of America called scouting the most popular program for younger boys. At a two day National Council meeting he announced total Scout enrollment of 4 751 495 with 3 460 971 members at year end 1957 a 4 5 percent gain. Eisenhower sent greetings to the leaders.

38 Acre Boat Service Center Opens in Long Beach

A 38 acre private development in Long Beach launches the Bahia Boat Mart project near the Pacific Coast Highway. Plans include a 500 small craft dock, 700 car parking, on call launching, a six acre dry storage area, and a marine railway. Capt. Charles W Brockway leads the venture, aiming for completion by July with space for 1,500 boats and future expansion toward a second Dock area and protected channel.
