Secretary of State William P. Rogers announced at a surprise news conference that the United States will not provide military support for Lon Nol's Cambodian government beyond limited arms aid. The remarks followed questions about President Nixon's plans and Rogers said Nixon would not be pressured to reveal timelines. Five Senators on television urged public help to defeat war funds tied to Indochina. The Cooper Church amendment would cut Cambodian funding by July 1 with a White House reservation on use to protect armed forces. White House says it does not endorse the language. Several senators defended the amendment on air and noted funding needs for the TV campaign. In Paris, unknown attackers used a Molotov cocktail on the Soviet consulate, causing minor damage.
