Brown Seeks Proposals on California Family Court
Gov. Edmund G Brown created and convened the Governor's Commission on the Family to study forming a state family court with jurisdiction over marriage, divorce, alimony, property division, and child custody. Assemblyman Pearce Young and Richard Dinkel were named co chairs of the 15 member panel to draft proposals for the next legislative session. The commission also may propose family life education in public schools and a possible uniform residence standard for marriage and divorce.
