An IRS team in Las Vegas investigates more than 23 million dollars invested by billionaire Howard Hughes in Nevada since 1966 via Hughes Tool Co. Probes focus on mining claims, casinos, and Nevada real estate to see if funds were diverted for foreign income or siphoned by insiders. The investigation follows a $9 million suit filed in Salt Lake City and questions Hughes ties while officials struggle to contact Hughes.
