Oriental actors protest loss of roles to Caucasians
Asian actors protest continued casting bias in film and TV as Oriental parts are often filled by white actors. Helen Funai and Miss Funai discuss limited roles and urge more opportunities for Japanese Chinese Korean and Filipino performers. Keye Luke notes box office factors influence casting while Gielgud and Brynner headline roles spark debate. A protest letter from the Japanese American Circus League targets Lost Horizon casting.
