General's $200000 jet lease at Mt Huachuca reduces bus service
Maj. Gen. W B A Lalla of the Strategic Communications Command at Mt. Huachuca ordered termination of bus service carrying 323 employees 70 miles round trip to Fort Huachuca to cut costs. He leases a Learjet from Gates Lear Jet Co. at $200000 annually, saying the jet saves time and protects sensitive papers, with bus company seeking a $20000 raise.
