$13 Million Budget by Orange Coast District Probed
A preliminary 1968 69 budget of 13 447 398 about two million more than the present one was presented to trustees of the Orange Coast Junior College District. Superintendent Norman Watson cautioned this is preliminary while noting the district’s assessed valuation may rise to 843 959 000 and keep the tax rate near .5404 per hundred. The plan allocates 4.4 million for capital outlays including library expansion at Orange Coast College and facility upgrades at Golden West College. A one million fund would finance three new buildings at the Huntington Beach campus including a gymnasium shoe building and fan.
