From slump to producer at Disney Courtland's career turn
Jerome Courtland, once a leading actor at Disney Studios, rose after a career lull to become a feature producer. In a hallway meeting with Shirley Temple Black and amid memories of Kiss and Tell, he discussed his new film Escape from Witch Mountain and his long journey from actor to director then producer. He recalled early beginnings in Knoxville, Tennessee, service in the Army, and years of learning in cutting rooms and studios before joining Disney and Screen Gems. He plans to scout Alaska for his next project and remains proud of the shift from acting to producing.
