Interior Secretary Morton to swap Cadillac for smaller fuel saver
Interior Secretary Rogers C. Morton faces red tape over trading his Cadillac limousine for a smaller government car to cut fuel use. The leased big car costs $800 yearly while a six cylinder replacement runs about $1,400. Morton insists on the exchange, joking his chauffeur will be an outcast at White House Cabinet gatherings. Muskie says he may consider a 1976 bid but seeks a different basis than past attacks. he will focus on Senate duties this year and face 1976 later.
