Crime Commission Recommends Revision of Sex and Gambling Laws
The President's Crime Commission urges removing many sexual practices from criminal law and revising statutes on drunkenness prostitution abortion gambling and sex acts. It cites costs delays and ineffectiveness of enforcement and proposes noncriminal treatment for many social ills while preserving penalties for rape child molestation and other grave harms. The report also calls for judicial reform bail rules faster trials and limited prostitution laws.
