N Y Woman Finds Bomb at Her Door
A Time Life employee Patricia Delaney 35 found a bomb outside her New York apartment. Police evacuated occupants of the 12 story building and bomb squad disarmed the device using armor protective gear. The two pound explosive assembly contained razor blades nuts bolts blasting caps and wires. Detectives questioned Delaney's acquaintances for clues.

Klansman Surrenders in Shooting of His Wife
Josephy Sims a Ku Klux Klansman sought by police and the FBI surrendered after using a friend to announce he would come out of hiding. Sheriff Pope drove the contact to a Jackson Lake cabin where Sims was arrested and brought to Athens to face assault with intent to murder his 15 year old wife. The woman, mother of eight, was shot in the face at Athens General Hospital after separating from her unemployed husband. Sims, 44, had been acquitted in a 1964 highway slaying involving a black man.
