Book reviews cover two new titles. Irwin Shaw and Ronald Searle recall Paris with 36 drawings and six personal essays, mixing charm and rueful notes about the city. Bruce Felton and Mark Fowler assemble hundreds of curiosities from history, from odd mayoral footpowder to giant false teeth factories, in a playful miscellany.
