Two Women Killed by Rifle Fire in Beaumont
Beaumont Texas police said 57 year old Thomas Jefferson Jones confessed to shooting two women in an apartment after a dispute over a prior arrest. Victims were Mrs Alpha Bell Hill 49 and Mrs Elsie Hufstutler 48. Jones held without bond on murder charges after daughter alerted officers.

Navy Sailor Flees to Sea in Motorboat from Manila
