Air-safety task force calls for pilot checks and reforms
A special task force proposes 19 air safety reforms including unannounced cockpit recording checks on pilots. Transportation Secretary Coleman orders FAA to implement within 45 days, aiming to reduce complacency in U S aviation. The panel led by Gen. Davis was formed after congressional criticism following the TWA crash near Washington that killed 92 people.
