Tragedy in Texas Girl Tells of Classroom Shooting
In Dubose Junior High a 15 year old girl named Kate McCoy shot Bobby Whitford 15 in a science class. Kate claimed she acted to protect a friend amid troubling fears and said she woke at 2 am and fired after confronting him. Donna, the victim’s friend, described the sequence and Kate’s motive as protection for a friend. Authorities charged Kate with the shooting and committed her to Martineau Juvenile Hall for a hearing.
