Raleigh Rabbits Roast Legions Rabbit Hunt Case
In Iredell County, attorneys for both sides argued before the State Supreme Court over banning a sticks and stones rabbit hunt sponsored by the American Legion. Justice Higgins questioned the ethics of brute force while Meek defended the hunt as a public nuisance issue, not cruelty. The high court reserved decision on the appeal from Superior Court Judge Crissman.
