Passover Feast Observed Worldwide With Unleavened Matzoh
Jews begin seven days of Passover, abstaining from leavened foods and fermented drinks. The festival recalls the Exodus from Egypt and the birth of the Jewish nation. Matzoh replaces bread, and many keep separate dishes and utensils for Passover. In Israel bread vanishes from stores, though some still buy from Arab bakers in Jaffa, East Jerusalem, or Halfa.

Post office destroys 8000 pounds of matzoh
The U S Postal Service destroyed 8000 pounds of matzoh mailed to the Russian Embassy for Soviet Jews. Senator Harrigan A Williams Jr said most matzoh came from Jewish families in the New York area and arrived at the Washington post office last month. When the embassy refused delivery, it piled up and postal officials destroyed it.
