Thresher Debris Found on Kilkee Beach Ireland
A three foot metal object washed ashore at Kilkee County Clare identified as U.S. Navy equipment linked to the ill fated submarine Thresher. Police notified the U.S. Embassy in Dublin and await disposal instructions after confirming the object bears the U.S. Navy stamp. The Thresher sank on April 10 1963 during a deep dive test about 220 miles off the U.S. East Coast.
