Camporal Scout Encampment Heads to Long Beach Area
Ibang Beach Area Council Bay Scouts of America will hold the largest encampment in council history this weekend at Firestone Scout Reservation in Brea Canyon. More than 4,000 scouts and leaders are expected for a three day camporal with patrols from Long Beach Lakewood Bellflower Signal Hill and San Dominguez. A scouting contest features knot tying lashings signaling compass work map making and fire by friction. A giant campfire culminates with a candlelight rededication to the Scout Oath. Religious services will be held Sunday morning for three faiths.
