Catalina Island harbor plan expands to five mainland facilities
Burton Chace said plans through 1974 extend to five harbor facilities on the mainland and three on Catalina Island with a land improvement program at Marina Del Rey. The county would spend 24,000 for Portuguese Bend harbor, 49,500 for a harbor of refuge and 20,000 for Isthmus Cove at Catalina, plus 13,000 for Emerald Bay. Additional projects include refuges, launches at Paradise Cove Pt Dume Sequit Cave Malibu and Topanga Creek ramp, with Harbor Commission actions on Island Station berths and berths 193 and 194.
