Police report Nehem jah Doss a 50 year old bookmaker was found shot to death in his parked car in South Central Los Angeles on a Wednesday. The body was discovered slumped inside the vehicle.
Navy Cmdr Lloyd Bucher who commanded the USS Pueblo after its 1968 seizure by North Korea returned to Pueblo. He was greeted with a hero’s welcome at the airport and City Hall as Mayor Phil Hudspeth presented a plaque for his outstanding valor and service.
Officials denied reports that the United States paid a ransom to North Korea for the USS Pueblo crew and said no concessions were made. The ship remains held near Wonsan while negotiations continue, with officials promising an announcement soon. Senator Young urged scrutiny of Lindstrom and potential security leaks.
