General Telephone trims Southland rate hike request
General Telephone Co. reduced its requested annual rate increase to 8.499 million for Long Beach and 124 Southland communities, from 11.052 million. Ernest W. Watson said higher income now justifies the cut, with residential, two party and multi line charges lowered and the PUC hearing postponed as a revised application is reviewed.
