California and Long Beach win restraining order on oil price rule
A U S District Court judge granted a temporary restraining order blocking a Federal Energy Office price control on crude oil for state and local governments. An April 8 hearing was set. officials said the FEO rule violated notice and public hearing requirements and would retroactively cut about 60 million dollars in state revenues. The state aims to obtain fair market value for oil from state lands and to pursue collection discussions with lessees and contractors.
